(Naperville, April, 2003) - It’s Prom Season for millions of American teenagers and the Illinois Limousine Association is encouraging prom-goers to hire a chauffeured vehicle for their special night, to help ensure their safety, and their parents’ peace-of-mind. “It is not about glitz and glamour anymore, it is simple common sense” said Tom Mazza, Executive Director of the National Limousine Association. Teen drivers, Mazza noted, have the highest crash risk of any group of drivers on the road. According to 2001 statistics from the Insurance Institute of America, “Per mile traveled teen drivers have the highest involvement rates in all types of crashes, from those involving only property damage to those that are fatal. Almost 80 percent of the fatal crashes reported in the 16-19-age category involve driver error. This is almost 20 percent more than fatal crashes in the 20-49 year old category.”
“Prom is an important, joyous milestone in the life of our young adults. We take great pride in knowing we play such an important role in the success of this important occasion,” says Tracy Hodge, owner of Your Private Limousine, Inc. located in Arlington Heights, and President of the Illinois Limousine Association. “We accept our obligation seriously by providing, outstanding, safe service,” she said. “We like to enhance the evening for the attendees and offer peace of mind to the ones who are still at home!”
The Illinois Limousine Association, representing over 40% of the licensed liveries in the State of Illinois, is dedicated to enhancing and promoting the professionalism of the limousine industry.
